Electric Bill question
Author Last Post

Your 10 hours per week on the lathe probably keeps you from pursuing more expensive pass times.

She may just miss the time you used to spend with her.

Power consumption is probably toward the low end of the costs associated with this hobby.

Have you tried running you lathe in reverse to get the meter to spin backwards !! 😁

Hey all,

My wife is starting to give me the evil eye when we get our power and light bill.

I'm wondering if anyone has gone through the trouble of measuring or calculating how much electricity you are using?

I have several toys, but the one's I work with the most and for sustained periods if my Jet lathe with a 1HP motor, a Delta Dust collector with 1 HP motor, and a 1/4 HP Ricon air filter.

I use them for about an average of 10 hours a week.

I could do the calculations, but I doubt that will be that accurate.

Thanks!

Randy
