About this event

This class is a continuation of the demonstration Alex will share at the upcoming January meeting. Participants will be provided with a roughed bowl blank and have the opportunity to take that blank through the process of creating a thin, natural edge bowl. Various mounting options will be demonstrated and the participant will shape the outside and create a tenon for holding in a 4 jaw chuck. The piece will then be hollowed to a thinness that the participant is comfortable with, while attempting to retain a natural bark edge. Participants will also be shown how to jam chuck a bowl to remove the tenon and nish the bottom (after the bowl has dried properly). This class is geared towards people who have successfully turned bowls. Extra tools will be available to use.
